Beacon Hill - between Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe, on HWY 98, Panhandle Florida. If you are coming from Panama City Beach follow HWY 98. When you get to Mexico Beach, look for El Governor Motel on your righthand side. Keep going on HWY 98 and 2.5 miles after El Governor, on your left-hand side will be a park - your race site! For those coming from Tallahassee; park will be on your right-hand side.
Oil Spill Good news - there is no oil on our beaches! We did have a plan B and even plan C in place in case the disaster reaching our area but we have been spared!
It is time to sign up for Beach Blast Tri & Du II on September 11! It is going to be a great one and it is going to be a hot one! Since local waters have been open to fish again ... you know it ... we will grill shrimp for you after the race while you wait for the official results and win fun prizes in many drawings!

There are two Beach Blast races a year: April 24 and September 11 (this will be a very special event on a very special date! We will be collecting brand new visors and hats and ship them to our heros overseas after the race - bring some too! Spread the word and help us to tons of gifts for the men and women protecting us every day!)
BEACH BLAST consists of 4 races; pick your passion and distance: Sprint Triathlon 0.35 mile swim - 15 mile bike - 3.1 mile run Sprint Duathlon 1.2 mile run - 15 mile bike - 3.1 mile run Olympic Triathlon 0.7 mile swim - 25 mile bike - 6.2 mile run Olympic Duathlon 3.1 mile run - 25 mile bike - 6.2 mile run
How it all works All 4 races start from the same spot on the beautiful local beach. Olympic races take off at 7:00 am CT and Sprint distance races start at 7:30am CT. Swimmers and runners (duathletes after the first run on the beach) will follow the same course to T1, on the bike, T2, and run. Participants of Sprint distance races will turn around on the bike and run before Olympic participants will. Please watch for signs, flags, and volunteers to lead you.
Having 4 races at once makes Beach Blast a unique event and great destination for a weekend on the beach!

FRIDAY - the night before race

CHANGE !!!5-8 pm - Race packet pick up will take place at the race site – Beacon Hill Park – 2.5 miles from El Governor Motel – past Mexico Beach. 7:00 pm – Race site – Race meeting for first-timers, teams and anyone interested in course details, last minute changes, USAT rules and other information. !! CHANGE: Friday race packet pick up,in the past, took place at El Governor Motel and has now been moved to the park/ race site.
SATURDAY
Transition area opens at 5:30am CT. Packet pick up and body marking start at 5:30am CT. Only body-marked athletes will be allowed to enter the transition area. Very convenient parking is available in the park, please follow directions from volunteers directing parking.
Pre-race meeting and a word from the USAT Official on the beach at 6:50 am - please attend whether you are participating in Sprint or Olympic race
Race start: Olympic race starts at 7:00am CT. Sprint race starts at 7:30am CT.
Please note: all times are CENTRAL. Be safe and have a blast!
Post race massages will be provided by a charming massage therapist Terri Pace (MA40613) of Panama City. This service will be free to Beach Blast participants so bring change for a tip!
Awardsceremony starts as soon as the last athlete crosses the finish line. Enjoy grilled shrimp, hot dogs, pizza, beer, and door prizes while you wait!
